Andrew Appello, LAc, NP, AP 2023 Integrative Nurse Practitioner of the Year, Biocharacteristics Clinician
"The biocharacteristics view is the approach that most, if not all, traditional systems of herbal medicine use as the scientific basis for matching the correct herb to the being. Understanding temperature, taste, moisture, and other biocharacteristics is foundational to herbal prescribing in Unani-Tibb, Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Curanderismo, Greco-Roman and many other traditions around the world. For the modern clinical herbalist, this understanding is a pre-requisite to understanding human/animal-plant interface and ensures a truly holistic approach to care." - Andrew
